Sweet chorus

Martin Sweet posted this song on Crashdïet's facebook this evening. To do a cover of the bands biggest hit is of course going to create opinions. We all know that nothing will ever be as good as the original, but by having an open mind and giving Adept a chance I gotta say that I like it! I've never liked it when a singer is just yelling and screaming through a song without any good purpose or melody. Which unfortunately is exactly what he is doing here in the verses. But the heavy intro and the sweet chorus makes up for it, big time! And now I'm head banging my way through this evening...

Not that this is a movie blog buuut....

When I think back to the Halloween parties I went to as a kid I think of crazy looking food, spaghetti worms, sausage fingers, blood punch and bats made out of candy! I think about all of those times when me and my friends were standing in the middle of a room, dressed up as witches of course, clinging to one another because we were so scared of the guys running around in Scream masks outside the house. Of course it was only Alexandra's older brother and one of his friends. But the fact that those Scream movies were such a big hit then and we had seen them like a twenty times, we were bound to feel like Sidney Prescott.
Those movies are classified as silly these days, but I still think they rock ;)

A couple of years later at my Birthday/Halloween party!

I have never been a fan of movies that are created just to scare you. I want a good and interesting story behind it. "The count of Monte Cristo" isn't exactly a horror movie. Or well, I would personally find it pretty horrible to be betrayed by my best friend and then locked away in a torture chamber for 14 years. But maybe that's just me. Anyone who hasn't seen this work of art that is based on a 167 year old book, is missing out on an incredible story. The first time I saw it was with my aunt when we were on a winter vacation together. It didn't stop snowing for one second when we were there. And every day when we got back home from skiing, we saw this spectacular movie. Click here and scroll down in the playlist to watch it!

Edmond - There are 72 519 stones in my walls. I've counted them many times.
Abbe Faria - But have you named them yet?

Halloween Hell

I won't be celebrating until Friday.
But still, this is the weekend to say HAPPY HEEELLOWEEN all sleazy rockers!!
There's a sleazy rocker hiding in everyone ;)

It takes courage to play in a world that does not play

While we are talking about having fun...
One of the few people that I have looked up to for almost my whole life is Ellen Degeneres. I have followed her career for so long that she almost feels like a part of my family. Weird huh?
But how can I not feel that way when she's been in my living room almost every day after school. For all of these years she's been making me laugh and she has teached me that all people are important no matter what their sexuality is. I have never even questioned it because it's always been so obvious to me. And even though I do have two very liberal parents who would never allow me to look down on someone for being gay, I am still convinced that Ellen was the person who influenced me the most to be open minded. But most important, open hearted.
I feel proud in a strange way that she has this succesful talk show called "The Ellen Degeneres show". Because I was one of her fans all the way from the beginning. From the time that no one even knew that she was gay. It's nice being able to say that I was one of those people who stuck by her until she had made it all the way to the top and now is one of America's most powerful woman. And that power is truly in the right pair of hands.

Just watch this clip from when Ellen was still doing stand-up and had her hilarious TV-serie "Ellen". What she says about our inner child is brilliant and don't you all wish that we could do this!? Just run around on the street playing games with each other like it was the most natural thing in the world. For some of us it would be such a scary challenge to walk up to someone and do this. But at least we could start with our friends! (Or maybe our boss...) We barely play with our friends anymore! How lame is that? Kids rock because they aren't chickens like us who are afraid of every little thing.

Watch from 8:25 and continue in the video below!

If it's not fun, why are you still playing?

I have been in such a good mood since yesterday evening! And whenever I feel this good I always try to take care of myself, eat better and try to stay happy for as long as possible. What goes up must always come down so I know it's only a matter of time before I'll go back to my normal state of mind. I don't mean that I walk around feeling depressed all week long, I just mean that I'm not as extremely happy and content like I am right now :P
Who knows, maybe I'll use this extra energy to write another "30 challenges in 30 days" post.... haha, I doubt it. I'm so stubborn that when I feel like I really HAVE to do something... then I just don't do it. Things like that needs to come natural to me and it has to be fun. I never write anything in my blog unless I feel like it!

Missing you

Kind of weird when you listen to a song your whole life and just think it's good. Then you grow up and one day realise that you can relate to every word in it.

I saw in the newspaper
that now there is a chance
for me to travel cheaply abroad.
It's good for me;
but too bad for you
Because if I see you smile,
at someone else,
I take the plane to Paris
I'll live in a hotel
for one night, blame yourself!

It's pretty clear,
that you are popular.
But it is just causing trouble.
I'm overlooked, misled.
You know all I ask is this trivial thing,
I want you all to myself.

I intend to jump from the Eiffel Tower,
if you betray me.
For I will take revenge if I am left
lonely without you.
Aaah yes jump, down the Eiffel Tower,
if you fool me.
But I hope that I'm stopped
in the elevator up by you.

Jag ska fånga en ängel

I know, it's almost winter and Christmas is just around the corner. But this evening I couldn't help but to listen to Ted Gärdestad. He's one of Sweden's most appreciated artists and is mostly famous for his songs about summer time. Ted suffered from psychological issues that troubled him so much that he in 1997 jumped in front of a train. He is still to this day deeply loved and missed. I have never heard a bad word being spoken about this guy.
For those of you who aren't familiar with his work, here you have "Jag ska fånga en ängel". Very few songs makes me as happy as this one.

"I'm going to capture an angel.
An angel from seventh heaven.
Do you want to be my angel?"

I have loved you for a thousand years

Just saw the live streaming of the Breaking Dawn event that is going on at Hovet in Stockholm tonight. Ashley Greene who plays Alice and Robert Pattinson who plays Edward were there to meet the fans and do an interview on stage. They are both so sweet and down to earth, I really can't see any reason not to like them. And I also know that some people don't think Rob can act just because he has become a part of this big phenomenon. Which is sad because if you look at some of the other movies he has made, you can tell he has got a great amount of talent. The movie "Remember Me" is my favourite so far. I haven't seen "Water for Elephants" yet, but I've heard so many good things about it.

Anyways, Ashley and Rob did a good job tonight considering that the audience was crazy. I have never really seen the point of going to a fan event where the actors are being asked questions and you don't want to hear the answers. Just shut up and listen to what they have to say! I get that you are excited to be so close to your idols, but when both of them needs to be 5 inches away from the interviewers face to hear what she's asking, don't you think it's time to show some respect and be quiet?
Sometimes I feel like a nagging old lady who thinks that "kids today are so rude" haha :P but seriously... I wouldn't mind a few more please and thank you's... it just seems like the respect has gone out the window for some of todays teenagers.

Well, I just got completely off topic there :P What I meant to write a post about was this song. It's the official soundtrack for "Breaking Dawn part 1" and it's so beautiful. It's all about the Twilight spirit and love...

I have died everyday waiting for you

Death to all BUTT metal

Even though I am highly allergic to guys who tends to focuse on the shallow outside instead of the inside, Steel Panther keeps it funny and makes me laugh at this behaviour :P
I am just starting to get into their music so I can't say that I know much about them yet. Except that the band members have a great sense of humor and looks like they just fell out of a glittery glam poster from the 80's. They have a good fan base in America and are starting to head out in the world. I know that they have a gig in Norway soon so hopefully it's just a matter of time before they come to Sweden!

Check out their most popular video to the song "Death to all but metal". The comedian Sarah Silverman makes an apperance in the end.... haha, I love her....

Crashdïet - Walk with a stranger

It's hard not to feel sad when you see this, but the joy takes over after a while. The year in the video is 2004. So much would happen in such a short period of time. Who could have known...
In 2005 they released their debut album, which would end up being the only Crashdïet record that Dave Lepard ever was to sing on. And what a legacy that became.

Skid Row demo cover - Walk with a stranger

Paradice rock

A good old song from a couple of young rockers... Peter London himself is sitting on the floor to the left. I wouldn't have recognized him if I hadn't known he was a brunette before and always wears that chain around his neck :P I love the singers voice, she sounds like a modern version of Joan Jett. I wonder what this girl does today?

Reborn In Sleaze

Nothing will ever be as good as the original. But the fact that these bands and the people behind it decided to make a tribute to one of Sweden's sleaziest singers of all time is great. I recieved my copy of the record from Dave's mother Liz today. I've heard a few teasers of the songs earlier, but it's nice to finally here the complete tracks. Since I have already heard Blackrain's beautiful version of "Lost Horizons" I was mostly curious about PeepShow's interpretation of "Breaking the chainz". Well they didn't disapoint me! It's heavy, raw and everything else that this song needs to be to live up to its reputation.

It also happens to be my favourite Crashdïet video. I wasn't very fond of it at first to be honest with you. But that was before I saw the point. And before I started living this life myself. A life where I sometimes feel trapped in society's rules of how to act and behave. It's frustrating. I always count the days until I get to go out and break the pattern. Break the chainz.

Well, I'll continue to listen to the record now. I'm halfway through.
What's cool is to know that Dave actually inspired these bands to be what they are today.
If he had only known what he would mean to rock n´ roll one day.

Uhhm... I'm getting there...

Coming and going

Wondering why depression always seems to hit me on school nights...
It's not okay and I don't feel safe.
And tomorrow I have to be up at 6 am. I have to pay attention to something that I think is interesting and fun, but because I haven't been able to sleep I will feel like a zombie. And then there's that thought. "It's not worth it, I'll go home during next break". It's so hard to snap out of it.

Maybe you should know

The 90's and early 21st century was filled with pop and whatever The Fresh Prince of Bel Air was doing :P But some of those artists created hit songs that to this day still rocks my world....

Do you even understand?

I can't afford this heart, still I am responsible if it would fall apart
Believe me, I don't want to go

Setlist here and setlist there

Today there has been a lot of talk between Crashdïet fans about setlists. The guys just finshed their small tour in Australia (so happy and proud that they made it all the way there) and people are curious to know which songs they played. I've honestly never really understood the thing about setlists. I mean yeah, it's fun to hear if the band played a song that they usually don't perform live. For example, Crashdïet added "Save her" to the setlist on their last acoustic gig in Australia. That is a beautiful and at the same time tragic song that always goes straight into my heart, but I've actually never seen them perform it live. There are just too many other Crash-classics that needs to be put first on the list I guess.

But I'm really not that kind of girl who stays longer after a gig to get my hands on the setlist (the piece of paper that all bands write the order of the songs on, in case that they forget it). I just don't see the point in saving a piece of paper that often is pretty dirty cause people has stepped on it. Maybe it's the historical aspect of why people want it so much? The fact that this setlist was used on this night and this night only.
Or maybe the important thing is that the artists have touched that piece of paper? I get the point if you get it signed, but other then that I'm lost...
If anyone feel like explaining it to me, then please do because I'm curious :)

If postcards looked like this I bet people would send em all day long, just for the fun of it ;)

Payin' anything to roll the dice, just one more time

I spent two nights at the Peace & Love festival this summer. On the last night I saw the end of Journey's performance. With thousands of people (don't have any idea how many thousands, but I've heard that no other artist had that big of an audience at the festival this year) in front of me I was staring up at the big screens and couldn't believe it was actually happening. It was magical. And their new singer is, according to me, better than the original one. His vocal range goes above and beyond...
The best part though was the fact that the band enjoyed the gig too. You could tell how much fun they had on stage and that energy spread itself to the audience.

It's been difficult trying to find good quality videos from that evening, but tonight I stumbled upon a couple that I want ya'll to see! This guy has put up some more videos from Peace & Love so check out his channel if you are interested. And everyone else, enjoy this... :)

Tantra

Don't stop believin´

While I can dream

Elvis Presley. I could write one hell of a long post about him, but most of you would probably say "well, we already knew that about him". Or those of you who are real hardcore Elvis fans like myself would probably say "give it up girl, you won't be able to fit in all that important Elvis facts in one post". It's true. After spending 7 years or so on watching documentaries, reading books, listening to music and searching online I still feel like I have more to discover about this man. We all know what he did for rock n´ roll, but to understand why that happened we also need to know his background story. The Presley family has always fascinated me in many different ways and inspired me. I don't have a lot of major goals in my life. I just want to be happy, work as a kindergarten teacher and surround myself with good people. But there is one dream that I feel is extremly important to fulfill. And that is the dream of visiting Graceland. I can't imagine how it will feel to take a walk on that ranch or stepping into that house where I know so many historic events has taken place. I think it will be a very ghost like feeling. In some ways scary and in other ways thrilling.

Always going to be my favourite Elvis song...

To get away from all that get to know me crap...

OH YEAH!!

Libra friends and work

Friends
Libra can sense what others want before they ask it. And she can make the needs of others a higher priority than her own. As the diplomat of the signs she goes back and forth until a solution has been found.
When people close to Libra consider something to be a problem, she considers it her problem as well.

Work
Libra women adore working in partnership. Even if she's your adminstrative assistant, associate or colleauge... she will perform at maximum efficiency. She wants to contribute to your success and considers herself your equal, so you must give her an opportunity to present feedback, and for heaven's sake listen to what she has to say.
The female Libra boss can be ideal. She has a natural sense of authority, is a good strategist and a just administrator.

Libra Love

Libran's adore the concept of love. They idealize and worship it. A life without love is not worth contemplating, since they find it hard to function properly without the emotional security of knowing that they are loved. However, do not delude yourself with the belief that they will let you dominate and humbly accept everything you say. Gravely mistaken you shall be if you are naïve enough to believe this. When it comes to romance, female Libra characteristics, are manipulative but then again she does it all to win you over and then protect you.
Libras are typically amongst the most loyal signs. It's very common for them to refuse to acknowledge the bad parts of a relationship, while always highlighting the good.

The Libra woman is also very big on teamwork and fairness. She wants a partner, and not a puppy or a master. Conversation is more important to her than most other signs. Typically she don't have a problem complimenting you on anything she likes about you. At her worst, she is passive aggressive and don’t know who she is except in relationship to others. She has a tendensy to think too much and act too little

Refined and caring the Libra woman loves everything about romance, seduction and partnership. She will constantly work towards improving a relationship. Librans girls hate being single. As a result, she tries involving her partner in most things she does. She is very, very supportive of her partners decisions, after elaborately analyzing them in her mind. However, even if she finds a fault with the plan of action, she gently pushes him into the correct path. So gentle is her approach that you might not even realize that it wasn't your own idea to allow the paradigm shift!

Being suspicious is not one of the personality traits of a Libran girl. She trusts you completely and opening your personal mail will be wrong in her eyes. She expresses her emotions easily and lavishly; you will never find yourself complaining in this aspect.

But, by nature the female scale-bearer is initially a little shy and goes further into her cocoon if she doesn't get any responses from her partner. She needs that assurance that her efforts are actually being noticed and appreciated

She values the opinion of her friends, and the area of love is no exception to this. Impress her friends and you will find it much easier to win her.

Would you like to get to know me better?

Not that I believe in horoscopes or anything like that. But I do believe that we are affected by many different things when we are born. Things that will shape our personalities and behaviour. I am born under the star sign Libra and even though I take these sort of things very lightly, I still think it's fun to read about the Scales personal traits. Sometimes it's hard to describe yourself with words. But I think it's important for people to know why I act the way I do sometimes. It's important for all of us. I have summed up the traits that describes me best so that you all can get to know me a little better! I'll divide it into several posts because it got really long, lol.
Let me clarify - this is not something that I have just read online and thought "Oh, that's the way I am as a person? Good to know". Of course not, how silly would that be. I have picked out parts of different texts that I can relate to. This is the real me. Both the good and the bad.

About Libra
The first and foremost personality trait you will notice about a Libran is her politeness. She loves people and hates to be rude to anyone. The most striking thing about Libra's eyes is that they start smiling before it can be detected on her lips. And she knows that and often use it to her advantage! She is known for her charming and graceful ways among friends, relatives and even distant social circles. Since she often excludes an easy, light and fun aura she is stereotyped as the happy-go-lucky Libran. This is the reason why she makes a good hostesses. Libra has a gift for offering genuine compliments. She is tasteful and sophisticated, with an eye for quality, beauty and harmony in all things.

She is a social butterfly whose attempts at even harmless flirting can reap fantastic results. Although, this social perfectionist streak in Libra comes from the fact that she can't take criticism well. She ponder for days after being criticized and often hold it against people who fail to recongize her efforts.
She loathe cruelty, viciousness and vulgarity and detest conflict between people, so she often turns out to be the mediator who tries to cooperate and compromise with everyone around her. Libra is sensitive to the need of others and have the gift of understanding the emotional needs of others and meeting them with optimism.

Because she is so charming and eloquent, she is sometimes taken for being an air-brain. Anybody who falls into this trap is gravely mistaken. Librans, given their varied interests, are usually very well-read and have logical things to say on many different subjects. It's just that they are not very vocal about it. Libra also loves to argue, especially when someone passes general statements. A Libran can take both the sides of an argument by turns, and win at both. Infact, she can even switch sides in the middle of the argument!
Debate attracts her and she weighs both sides of the situation with total fairness. While she is arguing with you, she may smile every now and then. The best part is that she presents her case in such a tactful way that you don't feel offended at all. At the same time, she is not stubborn and easily changes her mind if she finds your arguments more logical and convincing.
She will never stick to a viewpoint just because its hers and your opinion will matter to her as much as her own. However, don't get impatient when a Libra is making up her mind. She hates impatience and it can make her extremely stubborn.

The negative sides of the Scales is to be flirtatious, changeable, indecisive, timid and impatient of routine. One thing in particular that ticks off a Libran is taking orders. You order her around and she will become the sulkiest person on this earth.
A Libran will be composed, balanced, lovable and courteous half of the time. In the other half, she will be irritable, inflexible, unhappy and mystified. She is always tipping to one side or the other, till the perfect balance is achieved. She is very delightful when her mind is in a balanced state.

One common quirk of Libra women is that of getting depressed easily. Partly this is because they genuinely feel the world should always be fair and beautiful, and the reality of course is that sometimes it just isn't. What others shrug off in this area a Libra sometimes just can't accept. This broken-hearted approach to life can be both endearing, or off-putting, depending on your viewpoint. It does create a unique and powerful counter point to her otherwise passionate approach to life.

Libran women are extremely cultured and tend to develop a leaning towards artistic and creative things in life. Usually they themselves take up and cultivate a particular art form. They are connoisseurs of paintings, dance forms, music and literature.
