A different kind of dance

The weather has been beautiful for the last couple of days, lots of sun which has gotten me motivated to start taking power walks again. Soaking up all the vitamin D that I can! Other than that I usually just stay inside doing my dancing routines. My favourite kind of work out... it has been that way for 10 years and probably always will be :)
Linus new dance school Edge Dance Studios recently opened here in Västerås and I am so happy and proud that he made it happen. When the whole drama with our last dance school was over, I was planning on starting at Edge Dance Studios. But something is telling me that I need to move on and develop my interest. So me and Anna will within a few weeks try on Fitness pole dancing.... haha oh yeah, I can't wait!!

Wouldn't say no to a trip to Croatia right now.
They have plenty of sun over there...

Gleek

It's apparently anything-can-happen Sunday so I started watching Glee. Yeah... Glee. And lord help me, I actually like it! I have seen the "Umbrella/Singing in the rain" routine before on YouTube and thought it was awesome. But I asumed that the rest of it was pretty much like High school musical but it really isn't. So I have some catching up to do, starting with season 1!... "Chicks don't have prostates... I looked it up!" haha...

Officially a Gleek...

Age of rage

I have no clue who these guys are or how their other songs sounds like, but this one is damn good! I discovered it while watching the Swedish version of "The Gladiators". This song is played when several of the male Gladiators are entering the arena together. Powerful stuff.

Positive energy

It has been a while since I've written a proper post in here. But I am so busy dealing with life and trying to make positive changes, so I think that needs to come first... :)
It feels great erasing people who are bad for you, just cutting them out of your life because they are feeding you negative energy. The thought of London is what motivates me to keep on going with school, life and just everything. 2½ weeks left to go and we are all stoked about it!! I really do need another short vacation to meet friends and forget all of my worries.

Looking forward to getting a little crazy again.
And if it doesn't happen, then we'll always have Paris...

Samson

Your hair was long when we first met
Samson went back to bed
Not much hair left on his head
He ate a slice of wonder bread and went right back to bed
And history books forgot about us and the Bible didn't mention us
Not even once

You are my sweetest downfall
I loved you first

Money, Sex & Power

One week ago Kissin Dynamite released their video for the song "Money, Sex & Power". Not exactly the greatest thing I have ever seen or heard, but I think it's pretty fun! And I know for sure that these guys have a good sense of humor. Like when me and the singer Hannes imitated a sleeping guy at the bar in Paris (how could he even sleep in all that noice!? And a couple of hours later another guy sat down next to him and feel asleep too, lol) or when the bands guitarist Ande dropped his pants and was too drunk to even notice. He barely even cared, just pulled them up and let everyone have a laugh about seeing his butt :P

They have talent, I just think they need to grow up a bit more. Get a little older. Get more experience. Just like how it is for all of us in life. They really are cool guys who are just having fun doing what they love most. Like we all should!

"We think we are so much better than the "lower creatures" yet they do so many things much better than us. If we truly respect their capacity as change makers to the world we live in, it will be in our favor through continuing innovations in health and science.
For example:
¤ There is a species of cone snail that produces a potential pain killer that is 1000's times more potent than morphine.
¤ Polar Bears have the ability to teach us much about diabetes prevention, they carry so much blubber yet their insulin levels remain stable.
¤ Some of our oldest plants are threatened and these plants have seeds that are not covered, they have no shells. The most famous gift these have given us is a compound that contains amazing anticancer fighting strength (a drug called Taxol). This drug treats ovarian, breast and endometrial cancers.

I was alone all along

Now I will tell you what I've done for you
Fifty thousand tears I've cried
Screaming, deceiving and bleeding for you.
And you still won't hear me

Don't want your hand this time I'll save myself
Maybe I'll wake up for once

I know the truth now
I know who you are
And I don't love you anymore

It never was and never will be

You don't know

how you've betrayed me
And somehow you've got
everybody fooled

It never was and never will be

You're not real and

you can't save me
Now you're everybody's fool

Trance - long time no see

As you could probably guess, trance music isn't exactly my cup of tea...
But I do enjoy some really good workout songs. And since I was a disco dancer before, I have some remixes that I like. Lately I have been watching workout videos on YouTube to motivate myself to get into the routine again. It's so easy being lazy after Christmas. In one of those videos there was someone working out in a gym and I heard this song playing in the background. It makes me want to do push-ups and go nuts on the dance floor again!

Memories forever

Just had to post these pics of two wonderful memories! First one is from the night in Paris when my girls Nat, Emeraude de Lioncurt (Mai) and Kris Roxy got up on stage with the Crashboys and rocked the house! I'm not one who likes being up on a stage like that so me and the rest of the gang stood on a safe distance from the stage, haha! It was just so epic seeing all of these cultures mixed on stage. Rock n roll brings people together! Four Swedish guys, one French girl, one Canadian girl and one Swiss girl

The second picture is of me and Nat's sister Allie. On the night of the Crashdïet unplugged gig! Love these sisters so much. I can't believe how close we are, even though we've only seen each other a couple of times. Facebook does the trick, haha...

Casablanca tour dates

So... for those of you haven't heard the latest news... Casablanca will be going on a tour in Sweden this spring!
(P.S. For those who are interested in some more good music, Ryan's other band Roxie77 will be playing a gig at Sigurdsgatan 25 in Västerås on March 2nd.)

More dates to come, but here are the offical ones for Casablanca....
April 5 - Eskilstuna @ Brasserie Legrande
April 6 - Borlänge @ Rockklubb på Liljan
April 7 - Göteborg @ Sticky Fingers
April 12 - Stockholm @ Debaser Slussen
April 14 - Uddevalla @ Kulturhuset Bastionen
May 25 - Malmö @ KB - Club Hell Yeah
May 26 - Trollhättan Backstage Rockbar

Playback crap and real talent

Just to show you once more why I think Adam Lambert is one of the most amazing live artists of all time. Someone on YouTube wrote that his voice is a phenomenon and I couldn't agree more. I mean honestly, how many of us would be able to sing this great live? I sure as hell can't! This performance sends shivers through my spine which is just how it should be when someone sings live. What's up with all of this playback crap they use so much these days? Anyone can sound great with previous recordings playing in the background. I would sound fantastic with playback. But let's be honest, not this fantastic. You can't fake real talent.

Hairdresser today.
It's nice having so much trust in her that I can say "do whatever you want with it" and be happy with the result. Every time.

Dave Lepard 1980-2006

Never forgotten.

"I'm not a babysitter, I'm a performer..."

The voice range of this guy.... I'm telling you, it's a gift from the God of rock. I wasn't completely sold when I heard his new song "Better than I know myself" for the first time. It was nice but it felt like I had heard it a hundred times before by other artists. But of course Adam Lambert convinces me when I see him perform it live like this. The emotion in his eyes and the way he can deliver a song with pure love is something that I will always admire him for. He always goes his own way and is incredibly loveable.

I can be obnoxious at times
But try and see my heart
Cause I need you need now
So don't let me down

I went to his gig in Sweden one year ago and it was one of the best things I have done in my entire life! Talk about giving the audience a run for our money. Plus, it was at Debaser so it was a really intimate gig. I prefer smaller events because then you feel a lot closer to the artist.

Me and some other of Adam's sparkly Swedes had prepared a gift for him that was handed over backstage just before the show. Of course all of us couldn't go there but one of the girls did a great job giving it to him. And apparently he was really happy about it! It was a book full of pictures of us and letters about who we are and how he has effected our lives. Basically a huge THANK YOU for being such an inspiration. No one is more glam than Adam Lambert. And I will take those words with me to the grave.

25 days to go

We trashed Paris, Stockholm is trashed since forever ago and now we're gonna trash London. We're doing one capital city at a time...

Rockin´ year coming up

Starting to become difficult deciding what events and which festivals to attend this upcoming spring and summer!! Especially since I don't even know if I'll have any money. Talk about having the worst year ever if I don't, because I woulnd't want to miss these gigs for the world!

Foxey at Harry B James - 17 Feb
Sister at Anchor - 22 Feb
Roxie77 at Sigurdsgatan 25 - 2 March
Shout it out loud festival in Germany (Crashdïet, Sister, Hardcore Superstar) - 10 March
Gilby Clarke at Harry B James - 22 May
Cesar Millan in Göteborg - 24 May (yeah I'm seriously a huge fan of The Dog Whisperer!)
Crashdïet supporting Motley Crüe in Finland - 7 June
Peace and Love festival - 26 til 30 June
Crashdïet at Falun Rockstad - 16 August

Won't be going to Sweden Rock Festival since the line-up kinda sucks. Way too far to travel for that. I am sure there will be plenty of more gigs showing up that I will have to pick and choose from in the upcoming months. I am dreading it and in the same time I can't wait...

ANYONE WHO WANTS TO JOIN ME IN ALL OF THIS FUN IS MORE THAN WELCOME!

Almost blonde

Sunday means studying and cleaning my room. Talk about boring. And I guess haven't really gotten to it yet...
Just waiting for my friend Sofie to wake up so we can motivate each other to get this project ready. Then on to the next project. Can't wait to get a break from all of this. Never been so busy in my life!

My confidence level about taking pictures of myself today isn't the best :P so I'll post some old ones instead. From the time when I was almost blonde. Didn't look too bad huh? I will go back to this colour sometime. But right now I prefer looking dark and mysterious ;)

Doesn't matter what you think

You want it? Believe it? We got it if you need it. The devil is a friend of mine. We are the saints, we signed our life away. Doesn’t matter what you think, we’re gonna do it anyway. If you think it's crazy, you ain't seen a thing. Just wait until we're going down in flames...

Would you love a creature like me

I know that this picture would scare off most people to listen to this song. But believe it or not, this video contains a beautiful, heart aching ballad. Jamie and Lestat from the band Sister does a ridiculousley good job singing this. The song is raw, sad, real and honest...
These Swedish guys released their first album "Hated" last year and are touring more and more outside of Sweden. Europe is getting a taste of this cookie and Europe fucking likes it!

Would you kiss a monsters cheek
Would you hold a monsters hand
Would you look into my eyes
and say that you understand?

I am what I am, nothing more than a man
Nothing heavenly within my command
With everything to lose, I reach out to you
Would you love a creature like me?

Shining down on you

It's alright, turn the lights off and I'll be there
Shining down on you
Close your eyes, we'll be fine, don't be in despair
Thats what we're all going through

Michael the Great

It wasn't fair. You were supposed to live on and on...

I can not think of any other artist that has created this kind of a reaction out of an audience. And Michael did it all his life. He accepted this World Music Award (Diamond) right after the second accusation of being a child molester. He had been found non-guilty but was still being treated by some people like he was guilty. Despite of that he still had this support. That says it all about his greatness. Take a look at these beautiful tributes to him.

8:30
Michael's speech

4:40
One of my favourite 'Michael moments' when he walks out on stage and asks the kids in the choir to come with him. And they all raise him to the sky with their admiration.

Steve Perry is writing music again

This is to all of you Steve Perry fans out there who are longing to hear more of his voice. Ever since leaving Journey in 1994 he has only released one solo-album that did fairly well. Now The Pulse of Radio and Classic rock magazine are both claiming that Perry has talked to them about going into the studio again, at age 62. In one year he has been writing around 50 songs and is now longing to record them.
"I never thought I'd do it again, but I decided to open up that room and see what I could find. Some of it sounds familiar, some of it sounds contemporary, some of it you can't put a label on — and I've never been big on labels anyway."

But for now this is just Perry's small project that he in the future hopes to be able to share with us all. And if not, at least he's got something to do to keep creative!
I personally adore Journey and Steve Perry's voice. Although I think that the band's new singer Arnel Pineda delivers more to the audience on stage than what Perry did. I like his energy! But a legend is a legend...

Crashdïet Unplugged videos

I have uploaded two videos from Crashdïet's unplugged gig at Scandic. What a wonderful evening it was, even though it was cut short for me.

"It's a miracle"
"Ta för i helvete inte fram era tändare...." haha!

Christian Hedgren has got talent

There is a new Swedish talent show on TV that is called "The Voice Sverige". Of course I had to watch the first episode just to discover that it is plain ridiculous. But there was one very promising guy who I wish all the best with his music career. I just hope this TV show doesn't ruin it for him. Christian Hedgren's voice is amazing... just listen to 01:52.... I mean, come on!!!

A box of clouds

"May it be" in all honor, but my favourite Enya song is always going to be "Anywhere is".
The lyrics are magical and so is the video ...

The moon upon the ocean
Is swept around in motion
But without ever knowing
The reason for its flowing
In motion on the ocean
The moon still keeps on moving
The waves still keep on waving
And I still keep on going

You go there you're gone forever
I go there I'll lose my way
If we stay here we're not together
Anywhere is

Community of rock - Hårdrockens historia

Remember what I told you about rock n roll being more of a community that just music? Well someone has made a documentary about that. It's actaully a whole serie divided into 11 parts. The makers are from Canada so the documentary is in English. It takes off in Memphis, Tennessee and then step by step moves towards Alice Cooper, Slash, Lemmy, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Van Halen, Mötley Crüe, Korn, Rage Against the Machine and many more. The documentary will air on Swedish TV every Tuesday (starting tomorrow) and the rest of the world should be able to see it afterwards on www.svtplay.se. I hope they don't block other countries from watching it.
You will not just see the reporter explore the music, but also the culture. To realise and understand why we call ourselves a community. The community of outcasts.

My heart

This song is always going to make me think of 2011

I'm so high
I could die

They're closing but no one cares
Going blind from all the lights
Mmm, this is worth dying for
I think my heart is bleeding

Welcome 2012

A new year is here. Welcome 2012. Feeling a bit sentimental when I see the fireworks.
Like I always do.
Like we all do.
