What would "18 and life" be without Ricky?

A new YouTube channel was created just one week ago. Well, a lot of channels were created then I guess. But there is one that has captured my attention to the fullest. I didn't even have to try to like it. I just did. This channel is actually a part of us all. We are all moved by music, it's like it speaks to us. Well, thanks to this channel you can now literally here your music speak to you. Beautiful and strong melodies is what most often catches our attention to begin with when we hear a new song, but it's the lyrics that bounds us forever. What would "I will always love you" be without Whitney's heartbreaking confession that she doesn't feel good enough? What would "18 and life" be without Ricky?

Amp Rock TV gets this and has therefore created something called THE WORDS as a way of making lyrics even more powerful. They have asked some artists to turn it into what it really is.... poetry! At this moment there are four videos up from Black Veil Brides, Marilyn Manson, Korn and My Chemical Romance where the singers reads the lyrics. It's beautiful, it's heartbreaking, it's real...
I'm not particulary interested in Manson's music but jeez, his lyrics are brilliant! The same with My Chemical Romance... "When we were young we used to say that you only hear the music when your hearts begins to break". Since this new project has become such a huge success I am hoping that Amp Rock TV will put up more videos like this in the near future. Keep a lookout!

We have nowhere to go
No one to wish us well
A cry to find our home
Our stories they will tell

Take joy in who you are
We know our wings are flawed
We are the Fallen Angels

Weekend with Missy and Viper

Viper came from Germany to visit me last weekend! Unfortunately I had an assignment from school that I had to write which took up a lot of time. But we managed to squeeze in a bunch of fun too! We took it pretty easy on the first day though. The weather sucked so I just gave her a quick tour around town before having a yummy lunch and watching "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus"!

The next day we met up with Axel to go to Avesta. Our friend Jesper (JB) had arranged a rock evening with his own band Inverted and also Sister. The crowd was of course not your typical rock audience but they seemed to enjoy the performances! It was Inverted's first gig so the guys were a bit nervous but I think they did a good job. Considering that they have already been offered to play gigs where they are going to be paid and also studio time, I'd say the night was a major success for them! I wish them all the best.
It was the first time I saw Sister live and I was hardly disapointed. If they can make a small crowd like that go wild, then I can't wait to see what they will end up doing at Skogsröjet. They are true entertainers from the bottom of their hearts.

Me and Viper finished off the weekend with seeing Titanic 3D at the cinema. We actually saw it on April 15th, the night when Titanic sank 100 years ago. I have got to say that James Cameron and his team had made an excellent job turning the movie into 3D. I saw details that I have never seen before. Things from the real disaster that I had no idea was in the movie because it just hasn't been obvious until now! The sun was still up when the movie was finished so we ended up doing a photoshoot! Viper has a great camera and even though I love photographing, it's boring to always be the one who takes pictures but almost never gets to be in them. No one else has the patience with it like I do, so when I look like crap in a picture they refuse to take another one. Thx a lot...! ;) But me and Viper improvised a bit and had fun doing it, so the pictures turned out great.

I said good bye to Viper at 6 am the next day because I had to leave early for pre-school. She went to Stockholm and I went to pre-school where all of the kids ran up and hugged me like always. LOVE.

It's not a way to live

I invited Sofie over for dinner one night, we watched a movie and just had a blast. Watching me make dinner was apparently entertainment enough, since Sofie was pretty much lying on the floor laughing, haha! She's just the greatest and I have invited her over for dinner again on Valborg.

Just two nights before that I had been to Borlänge. It was one of those spontaneous things that I do these days because I am tired of being a boring tight ass who needs at least one days notice before going somewhere. I am single and don't have any major commitments, so why make a big deal out of it? My parents went to visit my sister that whole weekend so I was by myself and had nothing to do. Casablanca had a gig in Borlänge and the matter of fact is that I like Casablanca, so there wasn't much to talk about. I booked a hotel and hopped up on the first best train. I'm glad I did because it turned out to be a wonderful evening. This is what I live for these days. Pleasant evenings with good friends and great music. Some people think I am crazy for sitting two hours on a train and paying 700 SEK just for an event like this. But money isn't important to me, although the experiences are! Every night is not a success. Sometimes I come home to Västerås feeling a bit bummed that the trip didn't turn out the way I had planned, but I keep on doing it. Because it's worth it! I have always been cautious person who has stayed on the safe side, just in case I get hurt. But I don't see any reason for doing that anymore. It's not a way to live.

Deathroll casino

Private Line is a Finnish rock band that has been active ever since the mid 90's. Even though I like a couple of their songs, I've never been a huge fan. There are just too many other bands out there to keep track of. If I am going to add a new one to my list, then it has to be darn special. Well, Private Line is now special...

Five days ago, on Friday the 13th, their new video for the song "Deathroll casino" was released. It has it all. The sound, the melody, the circus, the joker... They deserve more fans. That's all I have to say.

Ant invasion and weekend off

I didn't think we would have this problem until August, which is the time of the year when all insects usually invades our house. As an animal lover it's not okay to kill any kind of animals, the only exception is of course when they become a big problem. I have had a lot of patience but now it has unfortunately gone too far. We have a major ant invasion in the kitchen which my dad is going to take care of sometime this week. I have already had to kill several of them. I truly hate it. Can't remember when I killed an insect the last time but it was years ago (if you don't count the injured ones). Poor little ants...

My parents are visiting my sister this weekend. Her birthday is in a week so my parents brought along some presents to her from me! I think I know her style pretty well so I bought her two sweaters and one tank top. And what do you know, she had seen one of those sweaters in a store not long ago and had wanted to buy it. Well now she don't have to!

I can't wait for tonight when my friend Sofie is coming over for dinner! I rarely get to invite my friends over like this, so I am seizing the opportunity. It's not that my parents mind that I have friends over, it's just kind of hard to have a private dinner and a movie night with them running around. It was fine when I was 13 but it's only annoying when you're 21, haha...

30 challenges in 30 days - 9

I'm on a roll now so why not write more of these ;) gotta catch up!

My religion
When I was younger I was very confused about what I should do... should I believe in God or not? My parents are like most Swedish parents I guess. They haven't talked much about politics or religion with me or my sister, because they want us to form our own opinions. I've always thought that this is the best way to go and I will raise my own children in the same way. Nowadays I know that 'God' can mean a lot of different things. It doesn't necessarily have to be some old dude sitting on a cloud somewhere, it can also be something that represents hope and comfort. But when I was young I almost felt ashamed praying to God, because I felt stupid. So many people around me had told me that it was ridiculous to believe that there was a higher power. And personally I thought that the Big Bang theory made a lot of sense. It had proof, it had evidence, it was logical. But I was scared! I think most people on earth, no matter if they believe in God or not have gone through that period when they think "what if?".... What if we are wrong for believing in God?... What if we are wrong for not believing in God?.... What if there is life after death, will we be punished then?.... No that's ridiculous to believe.... or is it?

I think I decided my religious point of view when I was around 15-16 years old. Back then I didn't even know that my thoughts actually had a name. When people asked me what I believed in I just replied "Maybe God exists, maybe he doesn't. I don't know because I've never met God and I sure as hell wasn't around when the Big Bang came crashing through. All I know is that Big Bang sounds more likely then God. But then again, what do I know. Maybe I am wrong."

Well apparently this religious view has a name = Agnoticism. So I am a Agnostic. I called myself an Atheist for a long time because that was a person who doesn't believe in God. But even though I think the Big Bang sounds more likely, I am very open minded and don't rule anything out. I just don't like making statements and decisions about things that I have no clue about.

Favourite things
Well, except for the obvious things I use every day such as my cell phone, calendar and computer...

I'd say my favourite things are those with good memories behind them. I have SO many movies that brings back memories, framed pictures from parties and events, clothes that I have worn on special occations and so on. If I ever get rich then my favourite thing would never be the fancy car or the luxurious swimming pool, it would be the pictures I had on my wall. Because I never put up a picture unless it means the absolute world to me. I don't want to walk around in my home seeing things that I might not want to remember. Everyone in the picture may look freaking amazing, but if all that reminds me of is a bad night out... then what's the point...?

At least for now

I believe in perfect timing, like every cloud's got a silver lining
But what can you do, what can you say... when every damn day turns out the same
I drove all night for the promised land, to where the payment turns to sand
I found my destination between Love and Desperation

How does one capture Kony?

As I said in my earlier post about Kony: At the end of it all, why did I decide to support this organization right NOW? (Maybe not in the future, who knows). Well, because this is about children. And when children are being hurt in this horrific way I personally think that you have the right to choose one side. Then you have the right to act. I have read the pros and cons and I feel okay about my decision. And if things still look okay in the upcoming month, I will be out on the streets on the 20th of April with thousands of other people, standing for what we believe in.

...and I stand by my word. I actually cancelled that Action Kit after Jason Russell´s (the Kony film maker) breakdown. I saw a video of some guy running around naked on the streets who people claimed was him. But how could you possibly tell? He didn't turn around and face the camera once.
This was only one guy though. He seems nice and I respect that everyone goes through hard times, so I don't judge him because I don't know what really happened. But it did make me hestiant about giving money to the organization. But I have got to remember that he was just one guy out of those hundreds of people who is working with Invisible Children. And at the end of the day their goal is to raise awareness and I am still supportive of that. Cover the night is still on! It's only a matter of printing your own posters. Although I personally don't like that the organizer of this night in Västerås has not asked for permission from the police. If you are going to do it, then do it right. But I hardly think the police will stop us as long as we keep it calm. I hope people remember that we aren't supposed to stand in the middle of Västerås City yelling and demonstrating against this guy. We are going to cover the city with awareness posters and then go back home, wake up the following day and hope that even more people knows who this guy i.

In the organization's own words: "Invisible Children does not condone illegal activity, including trespass and destruction of property. We encourage creative and legal approaches of promotion only. Use common sense."

Some people, who I have talked to, claims that Invisible Children doesn't even have a plan on how to make the capturing of Kony happen. But what am I supposed to do with that information? I don't know the right way to capture Kony... do you? Should the American government be involved in this or not? How the hell should I know! I've never done this before. Very few of us have. But there has been so many attempts trying to stop this guy and his rebel army that I can totally understand why they are desperate enough to ask another country for help. And what country is better to ask than the biggest, the wealthiest and the most powerful one?

"The world should know that this war is complex. If it wasn't complex, it wouldn't have stayed for 26 years." Jolly Okot. Country director, Invisible Children

Some people have told me to support other organizations than Invisible Children because they can't be trusted. I do support other organizations. But what some people dosen't seem to get is that Invisble Children works and cooperates with these organizations too. Because they know that they can´t do this all on their own. Yes, Invisible Children started the campaign "Make Kony famous" and therefore the spotlight is on them. But they aren't alone.

"The last time I checked, when something is threatening four different countries, that is a threat to the international peace and security. Then it becomes a question of collective responsibility." John Prendercast, Enough project

Always be critical. Don't ever forget how Hitler made people in Germany root for him and believe he had a good thing going. But don't ever lose hope, there are still good people out there in the world who actually wants to make a positive change.

"Despite the fact that the LRA is not a threat to my pesonal safety and my family, I still feel the pain. These children need to come back and have a normal life. Why would I stop?" - Jolly Okot

Familiar

 Guy:
I think I should know how to make love to something innocent without leaving my fingerprints out
L-O-V-E is just another word I never learned to pronounce
Cause I just set them up to knock them down

Girl:
You know that type of sh*t just don't work on me
Whistlin' and tryin' to flirt with me
Don't take it personally 'cause we were never in love
It doesn't really matter who you say you are
Singin' out the window of your car
Find another girl across the bar
'Cause L-O-V-E is not what this was
