My guess

Talk about being a bad blogger lately. But I just don't have anything interesting to say! I spend my days at kindergarten and really want to enjoy it to the fullest. I only have one week left there so after that I am sure that my blog will be up and running again. Meanwhile, the Eurovision Song Contest is just around the corner so I want to share my favourite songs with you guys. It's always fun to see if the rest of the world agrees with me when the votes comes in. And of course, it's always a bit different seeing the artists perform live. Sometimes they don't make the song justice at all and you get really disapointed.

Ivi Adamou - La la love
This lady has a real chance of winning. I bet that Cyprus will be competing against Sweden for the 1st and 2nd place!

Roman Lob - Standing still 
Germany are competing with a radio hit. I am very weak for these types of songs, but unfortunately don't think that the ESC audience will be very impressed. It's just not the right forum. My prediction is that it'll end up somewhere in the middle when all the votes has been casted.

Compact Disco - Sound of our hearts
After Michael Jackson's "Earth song" it's quite hard making a song about a world in trouble and need without failing completely. But Hungary's song truly grips a hold of you, so hopefully it'll end up in the top 10.

Gaitana - Be my guest
I usually aren't very fond of Donna Summer/Shirley Bassey wannabes. There are just too many ladies out there with great voices, who are wailing more than they sing. I thought this song was a bit messy at first, just too many things going on at once. But Gaitana from Ukraine makes me want to dance! All of that messy stuff just ends up being fun! I am hoping for a spot in the top 10 for this one too.

Buranovskiye Babushki - Party for everybody
Now this is probably the cutest thing that the Eurovision Song Contest has ever seen. Russia will easily be in the top 5 this year. Not only will this song be a summer hit, the performance also brought me to tears the first time I saw it. In the midst of all the glam, glitz and greatness... here stands six old ladies in their old fashioned dresses and shoes made out of straw. And they look so happy.

Loreen - Euphoria
For the first time in years I am sure that Sweden has a really good shot at winning the ESC. We are SO proud of Loreen. Not to mention the fact that she comes from my home town. Haha yeah, of course I have to brag about that. Her dancing, extraordinary singing voice and beautiful lyrics will capture anyone's heart. Sweden usually gets good grades from other countries when it comes to music. But this time people are ecstatic and it would be a real shame if she didn't end up in the top 2.

What would "18 and life" be without Ricky?

A new YouTube channel was created just one week ago. Well, a lot of channels were created then I guess. But there is one that has captured my attention to the fullest. I didn't even have to try to like it. I just did. This channel is actually a part of us all. We are all moved by music, it's like it speaks to us. Well, thanks to this channel you can now literally here your music speak to you. Beautiful and strong melodies is what most often catches our attention to begin with when we hear a new song, but it's the lyrics that bounds us forever. What would "I will always love you" be without Whitney's heartbreaking confession that she doesn't feel good enough? What would "18 and life" be without Ricky?

Amp Rock TV gets this and has therefore created something called THE WORDS as a way of making lyrics even more powerful. They have asked some artists to turn it into what it really is.... poetry! At this moment there are four videos up from Black Veil Brides, Marilyn Manson, Korn and My Chemical Romance where the singers reads the lyrics. It's beautiful, it's heartbreaking, it's real...
I'm not particulary interested in Manson's music but jeez, his lyrics are brilliant! The same with My Chemical Romance... "When we were young we used to say that you only hear the music when your hearts begins to break". Since this new project has become such a huge success I am hoping that Amp Rock TV will put up more videos like this in the near future. Keep a lookout!

Weekend with Missy and Viper

Viper came from Germany to visit me last weekend! Unfortunately I had an assignment from school that I had to write which took up a lot of time. But we managed to squeeze in a bunch of fun too! We took it pretty easy on the first day though. The weather sucked so I just gave her a quick tour around town before having a yummy lunch and watching "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus"!

The next day we met up with Axel to go to Avesta. Our friend Jesper (JB) had arranged a rock evening with his own band Inverted and also Sister. The crowd was of course not your typical rock audience but they seemed to enjoy the performances! It was Inverted's first gig so the guys were a bit nervous but I think they did a good job. Considering that they have already been offered to play gigs where they are going to be paid and also studio time, I'd say the night was a major success for them! I wish them all the best.
It was the first time I saw Sister live and I was hardly disapointed. If they can make a small crowd like that go wild, then I can't wait to see what they will end up doing at Skogsröjet. They are true entertainers from the bottom of their hearts.

Me and Viper finished off the weekend with seeing Titanic 3D at the cinema. We actually saw it on April 15th, the night when Titanic sank 100 years ago. I have got to say that James Cameron and his team had made an excellent job turning the movie into 3D. I saw details that I have never seen before. Things from the real disaster that I had no idea was in the movie because it just hasn't been obvious until now! The sun was still up when the movie was finished so we ended up doing a photoshoot! Viper has a great camera and even though I love photographing, it's boring to always be the one who takes pictures but almost never gets to be in them. No one else has the patience with it like I do, so when I look like crap in a picture they refuse to take another one. Thx a lot...! ;) But me and Viper improvised a bit and had fun doing it, so the pictures turned out great.

I said good bye to Viper at 6 am the next day because I had to leave early for pre-school. She went to Stockholm and I went to pre-school where all of the kids ran up and hugged me like always. LOVE.

It's not a way to live

I invited Sofie over for dinner one night, we watched a movie and just had a blast. Watching me make dinner was apparently entertainment enough, since Sofie was pretty much lying on the floor laughing, haha! She's just the greatest and I have invited her over for dinner again on Valborg.

Just two nights before that I had been to Borlänge. It was one of those spontaneous things that I do these days because I am tired of being a boring tight ass who needs at least one days notice before going somewhere. I am single and don't have any major commitments, so why make a big deal out of it? My parents went to visit my sister that whole weekend so I was by myself and had nothing to do. Casablanca had a gig in Borlänge and the matter of fact is that I like Casablanca, so there wasn't much to talk about. I booked a hotel and hopped up on the first best train. I'm glad I did because it turned out to be a wonderful evening. This is what I live for these days. Pleasant evenings with good friends and great music. Some people think I am crazy for sitting two hours on a train and paying 700 SEK just for an event like this. But money isn't important to me, although the experiences are! Every night is not a success. Sometimes I come home to Västerås feeling a bit bummed that the trip didn't turn out the way I had planned, but I keep on doing it. Because it's worth it! I have always been cautious person who has stayed on the safe side, just in case I get hurt. But I don't see any reason for doing that anymore. It's not a way to live.

Deathroll casino

Private Line is a Finnish rock band that has been active ever since the mid 90's. Even though I like a couple of their songs, I've never been a huge fan. There are just too many other bands out there to keep track of. If I am going to add a new one to my list, then it has to be darn special. Well, Private Line is now special...

Five days ago, on Friday the 13th, their new video for the song "Deathroll casino" was released. It has it all. The sound, the melody, the circus, the joker... They deserve more fans. That's all I have to say.
