Bad City is a Chicago-based band that released their album Welcome to the wasteland in 2010. The singer of Casablanca, Anders Ljung, recommended this band tonight when he visited the Bandit Rock Radio. He said it was a band that made a bad decision when it came to choosing a record label. Obviously they released this amazing record and didn't get enough credit for it. I have got to say I am blown away by their music. I want others to hear it too! I want this band to make it! So please give these guys a chance and if you like what you hear, then spread the word! Spread it to the world...

Onision about a desperate broken heart

So. I have found this guy online who has several quite popular YouTube channels. And I haven't felt like I could relate to someone as much as I have in the last couple of days when I have been going through his videos. His real name is Greg but his nickname is Onision. I am posting these videos today because they made such a strong impact on me. A couple of weeks ago (and now and then) I went through a hard time where I felt like no one wanted to be around me, that everything I did was wrong, that there was just something strange going on and I had no idea why. I felt like the black sheep in my family as well in my circle of friends. I had no idea what to do. I only wish that I had found Greg's videos sooner so that I wouldn't have felt so damn alone at that time. But now I know they exist in case it ever happens again...

In this video Greg talks about this brutally difficult feeling of not knowing why you are so lonely. It's hard just knowing that something is making it hard for people to like you or want to hang out with you. Sometimes you need to stick up for yourself and for what you believe in, which is what I had done a few weeks ago. And I guess that is what Greg had done too. But for some reason we were dragged down in the dirt for it. People didn't speak up about it, they just disappeared. When I felt like I had done what I thought was right, they probably thought something else. But I hate not speaking up when something is wrong. It's not easy going against your friends and their believes. But sometimes you've just got to be true to yourself.

And here is the feeling of it all. Emptiness. And hate. You can't function without your friends and loved ones. You feel disgusted wth yourself, but you don't know why. And you start questioning everything.

And there is that part about relationships. When something goes wrong and you end up looking like an insane person. The only difference is that most of us don't film it and post it up on YouTube. But I am so happy that Greg did this because it made me realize that I am not the only one who has these crazy moments. Those moments where I wonder if I'll ever stop obsessing and be okay again. But it is just like he says. If you get into a relationship in the wrong way from the beginning, then this is what ends up happening. And it's so stupid because it would make perfect sense to just say "You know what, this person is really bad for me, let's move on with life". But how can you move on when you miss them SO much? So much that you even consider contacting them to say you're sorry and take back everything that you said, even though you deep down inside stand for every single word.
In whatever situation you may be in, you always end up questioning yourself. Maybe that is the point though? Maybe the point is to break down those walls you have built around your heart to protect yourself and start to realize that YOU may be the problem? I guess this has both a good side and a really bad one. It's good to learn from your mistakes and be aware of who you are as a person, but this thought can turn into self loading. Which it did for me a couple of weeks ago. I honestly asked one of my best friends "Am I the one who is fucked up? Seriously. I must be an insane, psychopathic person to act like this.". She told me that it was nonsense but I didn't let go of that thought for some time.

Am I an addict? I don't like those moments when I am being called "desperate" by some people just because I want someone to love, who loves me back. And when I don't go for every guy I like, then I am suddenly "picky". Well yeah. Of course I am. How could you not be picky about finding someone to spend at least a couple of years with? Why would you just throw yourself into something that probably won't last more than a month? Do you know how many heartbreaks that is in a year?

Had a really good time in London. It was like a mini-vacation. I had to have a couple of days with no stress, it did me good! Although after sleeping in a freezing room for three nights and then taking a power walk for several hours just to try and find a bar on a late Monday evening, I of course came home with a cold. This breaks my heart.

I am so sick and tired of society ruining these people's lives!! It started hundred of years ago and still hasn't stopped. A couple of weeks ago there was some journalist who got really close to an Indian tribe in Peru and they started shooting arrows at him. They are one of the last uncontacted tribes on Earth so the newscasters calls it a "tremendous accomplishment" to get this close to them. Why!? Because you got close to people who wants to be left alone? Get real.

I do what I can to preserve all of the beautiful and natural things that this Earth has provided for us. But these tribes do it all the way. They protect nature with their lives. How can some people be so incredibly disrespectful and greedy that they intrude on these people's lives, just so that they can take pictures of them? Leave them alone. Open your eyes and realize that we should all live after their example. Appreciate the fact that trees gives us the possibility to breathe. Stop cutting them down!

And all of this unnecessary killing of bugs! Our ego tells us that we are the only ones with feelings, that we are the only ones with relationships and families. But I think that if you kill a spider, there IS a relationship that you are ruining. If a fly gets into my house I always do my best to get it out, it's not like the fly knows it's not supposed to be there. I'm not saying that I am braver than anybody else, I can't pick up a spider in my hand and put it outside. But I find other solutions to it than to just run away screaming! Seriously people, think of the advantage you have here. You're huge and the spider is tiny. Just use a paper or whatever to get it out. Just don't kill it. If you just look at a spider web... I mean, that is magnificent to me! Look at a spider web and see what they can do, look at a birds nest and see what that is...

Play along music is a Swedish web site where you can learn how to play seven different instruments, singing and dance choreographies from teachers with plenty of experience. Through video uploads and sometimes even live webcams you'll be able to learn and to ask questions as you go. Janne Schaffer (one of Sweden's most well known guitar players) and Pontus Norgren (The Poodles, Hammerfall) are two of their guitar teachers and recently they just got a brand new teacher in the form of Ryan Roxie (Alice Cooper, Slash's Snakepit, Casablanca, Roxie77).

There are two different kinds of memberships.
1. Free membership means that you get access to the community, video chat and to the forum.

The song "Black Velvet" from Alannah Myles's debut album became a worldwide hit in 1990 and it even won her a Grammy award. By that time, the 32 year old Alannah had already been a songwriter for 23 years! She has since then released four more albums and even competed in Melodifestivalen (Sweden's version of the Eurovision Song Contest) in 2005. In July 2011 Alannah said that after several chiropractic treatments she has suffered from severe spinal nerve damage and is now unable to move her head and neck. But she still does performances and records songs in the studio.

Don't really know what to do with myself right now...
I'm at home alone. My sister is visiting her boyfriend in the north of Sweden and my parents are at work. I woke up late because me and Sofie were in school at 2 o clock in the morning, haha. We finally handed in our assignment. It was a blast walking around in school in the middle of the night. Gotta do that again sometime... veeeery SPOOKY!!
So that is done, everything else is done, my plans for London are pretty much done...
The only thing I have on my agenda today is to get some exercise.

I'm starting to accept the fact that I won't be able to go to the Foxey gig in Stockholm. Don't have any money yet so something has got to go. Just sucks that it is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I just want that night to be over so that I can forget the fact that I missed it. But right now my main focuse is London.
Can't wait to see the guys again! Swan, Max, Matt, Frank, Lou, Natasha, Allie and of course Charlotte who I'll be staying at the Bed & Breakfast with. We'll take the days as they come but we do have some plans to meet up before or after the gig and just hang out. Since we all come from different countries we don't get to see each other very often. Gotta take every chance we get! The guys will be playing on Monday and the rest of the time we'll enjoy everything London has to offer!

Few songs make me relax more than "San Fransisco (be sure to wear some flowers in your hair" by Scott Mckenzie. The first time I heard it was on a language trip I took to Malta in 2005. We danced the nights away to an upbeat version of it. It fits my mood even better now when I'm reading the book "Confessions of a groupie" by Pamela des Barres who was one of the flower power teenagers in the 60's. She describes with such wonderful details how free her life was back then, since not a lot of things were considered dangerous. People sat on the streets of Sunset Strip getting high, listening to groovy music and putting flowers in each others hair...

What does people regret the most when they are lying on their deathbeds? An Australian nurse named Bonnie Ware used to talk to dying patients about this subject and felt like their answers needed to be passed forward. She ended up writing a book called "The Top Five Regrets of The Dying" and that is now triggering thoughts all over the world. The number one thing that people regretted was that they hadn't followed their dreams. Instead they had been listening too much to what their friends and families thought they should and should not do. Some also said that they had lived a certain way of life just because they were expected to do so by society. The most common answer among men was that they deeply regretted working so hard. Many of them had missed out on big parts of their children's lives and hadn't spent enough time with their wives.

A lot of people were bitter because they hadn't had the courage to stand up for themselves and the result of that had been a medioker life. They had been so scared of ruining the harmonious spirit in their household that they thought that some changes would ruin it all. Because of this, they hadn't allowed themselves to be truly happy. They had forgotten that happiness is a choice, not something that is anywhere near pretending being pleased and concent.

These are the five things that they, after all of these years, finally realised. I won't be one of them. I refuse to. In one week I am going to London which is just one of the choices that I have made in my life to fulfill my dreams, to feel true passion and love for life. Money is sometimes an issue when you want to fulfill your dreams, but my advice is to focuse on some other dream while you wait! Just pick and choose from the dreambox that I know you have. One dream doesn't have to rule out the other. One part of me wants to rock my soul out to gigs and stay up all night. Just once in a while though, because the other part of me wants to stay healthy, exercise and make sure that I do good in school. Because without good grades I'll never be a kindergarten teacher. It all has to match. Don't waste your life away by becoming an alcoholic, but don't be a overachiever either. Find the balance. That beautiful harmony between work and life that these people were missing on their deathbeds. Let us learn from their mistakes.

I tried my hardest to avoid it all day. I have been struggling on the inside to stay positive and strong. But now I can not be okay anymore. I finally let depression grab ahold of me and it's the best thing I have done all day. There's just been too many small things going wrong, whatever I've said I have been misunderstood, whatever I have done it's been useless. Nothing will ever be so bad that I will let depression drown me, because.... well, been there done that. Never again. But staying strong for longer periods of time doesn't work in the long run. Sometimes I just need to break down and let myself feel whatever it is that I am feeling. Because I need to deal with it. And to my friends; whatever it is that I am complaining about, please don't make excuses for me.

Reading her confessions

You know when you see someone making a complete idiot of him/herself on TV and you have to cover your eyes with a pillow because it's so embarassing and pathetic? That's the feeling I usually get when I see groupies at after parties. If the celebrity (in most of these cases, rock stars) don't mind that the girl is following him around, then of course it's fine. But I have seen examples of girls who are willing to do anything to get some guys attention. Sure, this isn't news but I guess I just didn't realise until recently how insecure some of these girls are. I feel bad for them when they don't realise that everyone at the party is looking at them thinking "wow, that girl has got the worst self esteem on the planet, she's beyond embarassing".
I have seriously seen a girl clinging on to a rock star for a whole night. I mean literally HANGING on top of his back like a monkey without even getting the slightest bit of attention. She finally got to have eye contact with him when he yelled "Leave me alone! Stop following me around!!!" straight into her face. He was the third rock star for the evening to reject her.

But then there are some women who have chosen this life style and who does it with such class that I can't help but to like them. One of those women are Pamela des Barres! Today I started reading her first book "I'm with the band - Confessions of a groupie" which was published in 1987 and has since then been re-published three times. I admire Pamela because even though what she did is frowned upon she doesn't regret it, because she had the time of her life! I'm not saying I'm going to become a groupie. I am saying I will do what I want in life, with the highest possible level of confidence. Pamela was always in control of what she was doing and not someone's low self esteemed puppet.

The weather has been beautiful for the last couple of days, lots of sun which has gotten me motivated to start taking power walks again. Soaking up all the vitamin D that I can! Other than that I usually just stay inside doing my dancing routines. My favourite kind of work out... it has been that way for 10 years and probably always will be :)
Linus new dance school Edge Dance Studios recently opened here in Västerås and I am so happy and proud that he made it happen. When the whole drama with our last dance school was over, I was planning on starting at Edge Dance Studios. But something is telling me that I need to move on and develop my interest. So me and Anna will within a few weeks try on Fitness pole dancing.... haha oh yeah, I can't wait!!

Wouldn't say no to a trip to Croatia right now.

It's apparently anything-can-happen Sunday so I started watching Glee. Yeah... Glee. And lord help me, I actually like it! I have seen the "Umbrella/Singing in the rain" routine before on YouTube and thought it was awesome. But I asumed that the rest of it was pretty much like High school musical but it really isn't. So I have some catching up to do, starting with season 1!... "Chicks don't have prostates... I looked it up!" haha...

It has been a while since I've written a proper post in here. But I am so busy dealing with life and trying to make positive changes, so I think that needs to come first... :)
It feels great erasing people who are bad for you, just cutting them out of your life because they are feeding you negative energy. The thought of London is what motivates me to keep on going with school, life and just everything. 2½ weeks left to go and we are all stoked about it!! I really do need another short vacation to meet friends and forget all of my worries.

Looking forward to getting a little crazy again.

And if it doesn't happen, then we'll always have Paris...

One week ago Kissin Dynamite released their video for the song "Money, Sex & Power". Not exactly the greatest thing I have ever seen or heard, but I think it's pretty fun! And I know for sure that these guys have a good sense of humor. Like when me and the singer Hannes imitated a sleeping guy at the bar in Paris (how could he even sleep in all that noice!? And a couple of hours later another guy sat down next to him and feel asleep too, lol) or when the bands guitarist Ande dropped his pants and was too drunk to even notice. He barely even cared, just pulled them up and let everyone have a laugh about seeing his butt :P

They have talent, I just think they need to grow up a bit more. Get a little older. Get more experience. Just like how it is for all of us in life. They really are cool guys who are just having fun doing what they love most. Like we all should!

But I do enjoy some really good workout songs. And since I was a disco dancer before, I have some remixes that I like. Lately I have been watching workout videos on YouTube to motivate myself to get into the routine again. It's so easy being lazy after Christmas. In one of those videos there was someone working out in a gym and I heard this song playing in the background. It makes me want to do push-ups and go nuts on the dance floor again!

Just had to post these pics of two wonderful memories! First one is from the night in Paris when my girls Natasha Fernier, Emeraude de Lioncurt (Mai) and Kris Roxy got up on stage with the Crashboys and rocked the house! I'm not one who likes being up on a stage like that so me and the rest of the gang stood on a safe distance from the stage, haha! It was just so epic seeing all of these cultures mixed on stage. Rock n roll brings people together! Four Swedish guys, one French girl, one Canadian girl and one Swiss girl ♥

The second picture is of me and Natasha's sister Allie. On the night of the Crashdïet unplugged gig! Love these sisters so much. I can't believe how close we are, even though we've only seen each other a couple of times. Facebook does the trick, haha...

Just to show you once more why I think Adam Lambert is one of the most amazing live artists of all time. Someone on YouTube wrote that his voice is a phenomenon and I couldn't agree more. I mean honestly, how many of us would be able to sing this great live? I sure as hell can't! This performance sends shivers through my spine which is just how it should be when someone sings live. What's up with all of this playback crap they use so much these days? Anyone can sound great with previous recordings playing in the background. I would sound fantastic with playback. But let's be honest, not this fantastic. You can't fake real talent.

The voice range of this guy.... I'm telling you, it's a gift from the God of rock. I wasn't completely sold when I heard his new song "Better than I know myself" for the first time. It was nice but it felt like I had heard it a hundred times before by other artists. But of course Adam Lambert convinces me when I see him perform it live like this. The emotion in his eyes and the way he can deliver a song with pure love is something that I will always admire him for. He always goes his own way and is incredibly loveable.

I went to his gig in Sweden one year ago and it was one of the best things I have done in my entire life! Talk about giving the audience a run for our money. Plus, it was at Debaser so it was a really intimate gig. I prefer smaller events because then you feel a lot closer to the artist.

Me and some other of Adam's sparkly Swedes had prepared a gift for him that was handed over backstage just before the show. Of course all of us couldn't go there but one of the girls did a great job giving it to him. And apparently he was really happy about it! It was a book full of pictures of us and letters about who we are and how he has effected our lives. Basically a huge THANK YOU for being such an inspiration. No one is more glam than Adam Lambert. And I will take those words with me to the grave.

I can not think of any other artist that has created this kind of a reaction out of an audience. And Michael did it all his life. He accepted this World Music Award (Diamond) right after the second accusation of being a child molester. He had been found non-guilty but was still being treated by some people like he was guilty. Steve Perry is writing music again

This is to all of you Steve Perry fans out there who are longing to hear more of his voice. Ever since leaving Journey in 1994 he has only released one solo-album that did fairly well. Now The Pulse of Radio and Classic rock magazine are both claiming that Perry has talked to them about going into the studio again, at age 62. In one year he has been writing around 50 songs and is now longing to record them.
"I never thought I'd do it again, but I decided to open up that room and see what I could find. Some of it sounds familiar, some of it sounds contemporary, some of it you can't put a label on — and I've never been big on labels anyway."

But for now this is just Perry's small project that he in the future hopes to be able to share with us all. And if not, at least he's got something to do to keep creative!
I personally adore Journey and Steve Perry's voice. Although I think that the band's new singer Arnel Pineda delivers more to the audience on stage than what Perry did. I like his energy! But a legend is a legend...

Community of rock - Hårdrockens historia

Remember what I told you about rock n roll being more of a community that just music? Well someone has made a documentary about that. It's actaully a whole serie divided into 11 parts. The makers are from Canada so the documentary is in English. It takes off in Memphis, Tennessee and then step by step moves towards Alice Cooper, Slash, Lemmy, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Van Halen, Mötley Crüe, Korn, Rage Against the Machine and many more. The documentary will air on Swedish TV every Tuesday (starting tomorrow) and the rest of the world should be able to see it afterwards on www.svtplay.se. I hope they don't block other countries from watching it.
You will not just see the reporter explore the music, but also the culture. To realise and understand why we call ourselves a community. The community of outcasts.

I feel like I am the only one who is not running around getting myself glittered up for this evening. Some of my friends will go out to party and others will have dinner with their families. I'm just happy with taking it easy. Might sound boring but I was up at 7:30 am to study with Sofie but she overslept and I ended up studying on my own, even though I could hardly keep my eyes open. I'm proud over myself for that! After that I did some laundry so that I can sleep in newly washed sheets tonight. And I took a shower so now I feel super-fresh and calm :)

I haven't been blogging much this week because me and Sofie have been trying to catch up with school. It's not easy but we're getting there! Although we have managed to squeeze some fun in there too! I was babysitting the girls this Thursday so Sofie brought her two year old nephew and Kiki brought her three kids to Busborgen where we all met up. Busborgen is a huge room filled with lots of fun things for the kids to jump around and play on. There is plenty of entertainment in there for hours and hours and hours...haha! But eventually the kids started nagging about ice cream so we scrambled together a round table that barely fit nine people. Messy as hell, but what is life without a little craziness huh? ;)

Did you do something this year that you've never done before?
- Yes, I took more chances and put myself in situations that I wasn't comfortable in. Just to find out that it was absolutely wonderful. I have been working on standing up for what I believe in. I'm not 100% there yet, but I'm working on it.

Do you have any new year resolutions?
- Not really. I have reached a point in my life where I feel like it's more important to make resolutions whenever you feel like it's time for it. Just go with the flow and take one step at a time. The only thing I have promised myself is to drag our big training bike up to my room tomorrow. No one else is using it and I think it's a great way to get in shape - watch TV while working out ;) Destraction is the main key for being able to keep on going :P

Did any of your friends become parents this year?
- Not that I can recall right now. Although a friend of mine will have a baby in the upcoming summer!

Which countries did you visit?
- Paris, France. Other than that I have been in Sweden.

What do you wish that you had done less?
- Held on to things that were doomed. And not seen things from a different perspective until I had crashed and burned.

Best memory from 2011?
- All of the gigs, rock n roll and friends... mostly Crashdïet memories that I will cherish forever. The trip to Paris is especially close to my heart. There I got an even bigger proof of how kind and accepting the rock n roll community really is. When people from all over the world greets each other as friends and create a bond even though they don't know each other.... that's power.

Best purchase?
- All of the Crashdïet merch of course, haha... that is basically half of my wardrobe.

What did you spend most money on?
- Concert tickets, hostels, train tickets... stuff like that.

Did something make you really happy?
-My friends, I hope ya'll know who you are. No matter if it's in the rock n roll community or not. Also, becoming a nanny to two wonderful girls who I have gotten really close to. They bring me so much joy and I love the whole family!

Were you happier or more sad this year compared to last year?
- A lot more happy. Maybe not all of the time. I have gone through some rough patches, but I have kept on being fine thanks to all of my wonderful friends who have the ability of making me feel fine with just words. Also music has been a great comfort to me. It has empowered me a whole lot.

Favourite TV-show?
- Oh man, can I only pick one? Screw that, I make my own rules.

YouTube is full of all kinds of videos. But of course I tend to watch music videos and live performances of my favourite bands the most. For the past week I haven't been able to sleep until very early in the morning. Just because I have been free from school, I have stayed up all night.... simply because there was no rule telling me to do otherwise ;)
Which meant that I had all the time in the world to watch my favourite videos over and over again. What my favourite videos are depends on my mood but lately it has been these two. I feel like you need to watch the whole videos to understand how powerful they are. These are truly historical trademarks.

Blaah it feels like the whole world is dead, but everyone is of course still away celebrating Christmas. Even though I like being free from school, I miss the routine. Just knowing where everyone is and what I need to do. Tomorrow I have to be up quite early to study together with some friends. Of course you can never be totally free from school when you go to college, so we have been given a big assignment to do. I have two other big assignments to finish too but I'm being kind of lazy with those... I have promised myself to get rid of those before New Years. Haha well, keeping a promise to myself is easier said than done.

Looking forward to a calm New Years Eve though. There'll be no partying, I just want to be at home and take it easy just like I did as a kid. I remember sitting by the window all evening, with a blanket swept around me... eating salty peanuts. Haha.... always salty peanuts.

My Christmas

I have had some high expectations on Christmas this year, I've just had a good feeling about it. And I was right! Yesterday was the best Christmas in years! We celebrated it in the way that we always do, nothing different in that way. But ever since grandfather (mother's father) died it hasn't been quite the same. And also our relatives on my dad's side used to celebrate with us but grandma has gotten so old that it's just too much for her. So now we just spend Christmas with my grandmother (mother's mom). I didn't take any pictures of the presents I got but I appreciate them very much. I got a gift certificate for both clothes, movie theater and a massage at a SPA. I also got a pair of black jeans, a black leather skirt, a black skirt with white dots, a white tank top with lepard letters... and best of all a leather jacket! It's so hard to find a leather jacket that fits right but my sister managed to do so. Thank you very much!

I gave my sister a gift certificate for chocolate tasting in Stockholm. One for her and one for me, because it wouldn't be very fun for her to go there all alone. We have talked for a long time about going to Stockholm together to shop and just have a good time as sisters and now we have an excuse! I put out a bunch of clues in our home for her to find this gift, it was so much fun watching her run around looking for it :P

I went to Stockholm for a quick visit on Tuesday evening. Finally I got to see my French ladies again!! haha :D
Nat and Allie have been travelling back and forth to Sweden for a while now, but have now settled down in England. So I'll get to see them when I go there for the Blackrain gig in February. Fun!

I went to Stockholm for just an hour, haha.. But it was worth it. It's not every day that Crashdïet plays an unplugged gig. The guys were supposed to be on stage at 10pm but for some reason they were 20 minutes late and that meant I had to leave before they were done. It sucked big time, but I couldn't miss the last train home. I got to see most of the gig though and it was beautiful. Perhaps a strange word to describe a Crash-gig with but it just felt like the perfect ending to a major tour. They have been gone for so long and most of the people I see when I go out partying in Stockholm were at this gig. Like a reunion, just in time for Christmas :)

R.I.P Shannon Hoon

There's probably not one single rock n rolla out there who hasn't heard the song "Don't cry". Do I even need to tell ya it's a song made by Guns N Roses? Nah, didn't think so either. The guy who sings together with Axl in the video is Shannon Hoon. And I think most of you would agree with me when I say that he completes the song. Together with Axl they create one of the strongest vocal recordings of all time. So, wouldn't you want to hear this wonderful combination live? Of course you would, but since this was just a spontaneous cooperation it's hard to find videos of these guys together on stage.

Shannon was busy touring with his own band Blind Melon which it went really well for. They sold platinum-records and got to perform at Woodstock in -94. Although this was a honorable thing to get to do, Hoon's strong drug addiction got in the way and he got abusive towards the audience. But it's still rated by the fans as one of the best shows he ever did.

Shannon became a father to a girl named Nico Blue in July 1995. During that time he was going in and out of rehab. The band was out on the road again in October, together with a drug counseler who was supposed to keep Shannon away from getting addicted again. But the plan failed and the drug counseler was fired just days before Shannon was found dead, at the age of 28.

Let's never forget what this man did for rock n roll music.

It's hard to describe Laleh. This Iranian-Swedish woman has the voice of an angel and a prescense that she takes from the bottom of her heart and gives to the audience. The gift that she has to enchant people with her music was the reason for why she got to make a soundtrack song for the Swedish movie "Arn - The Knight Templar". It took me a few years before I watched it, but now I have and I understand why it got so popular in 2007. Not only does Laleh's music bring the movie to life, but the story and the actors are brilliant!
The movie contains many different langugages, so anyone in the world can watch. With some help from subtitles of course..
"The Knight Templar" and the following movie "The Kingdom at Road's End" is the story about Arn Magnusson who is part of the powerful Folkkung dynasty in the mid 12th century. He is the son of a high-ranking Swedish nobleman who is educated in a monastery and sent to the Holy Land. This as a knight templar to do penance for forbidden love with Cecilia Algotsdotter.

I didn't have very big expectations of Kissin Dynamite who was the opening act in Paris. Some think that they are overrated and all over the place in Germany (where they live). So I was surprised to see that they actually had a very talented singer. I didn't hear much of the songs, just enough to know that they definitely had potential. Now when I'm home I have listened through the bands album Addicted to metal. Hannes (the singer) told us in Paris that they had been playing together for a long time, although I don't know if this is their only album.

My favourite song is "Love me hate me" which is played in the Paris blogvideo when we are walking to the bar. Of course I relate that song to a lot of great memories, but it seriously rocks too!! My sister heard it once and now she loves it!
Other tracks that are worth checking out: Addicted to metal, Run for your life, High Enough, All against all, In the name of the iron fist... you know what, I am on my way of writing down almost all of the songs on the album. So just listen to the whole thing, okay? ;)

Christmas can come now. I'm ready for it!! It's even been snowing a bit the last couple of days, even if it's mixed with rain it's good enough for me. Better than nothing!
The few Christmas presents I am giving away this year have been wrapped. I can't tell you what I am giving my sister in case that she reads this. But the girls who I am a Nanny to will be recieving two books. "Who can love Ella?" and "Kalle as Lucia". Heartwarming stories about children who are just as normal as anybody else, but are still being treated differently by society. It's more common than we think that boys wants to be Lucia too (In Sweden we have the tradition of walking in a "Luciatåg". In the front of the line there is always a girl who represents Lucia with a crown and candles on her head). But grown ups are often against the thought of letting boys be Lucia too, while there is really no reason why they can't be! This debate about gender is on fire right now and I love that. Let's face those prejudice thoughts and let children be children.
The book about Ella is a story of a little girl who grows up on the street. One day when an old lady who has been taking care of her dies, she is found by a male homosexual couple who lets her become a part of their family. A quite deep and emotional story for a young child to read, but I think it's important for learning empathy and that all people are worth the same.
Besides, the pictures in both books are amazing. These are the kind of books that I as a child would look through for hours and hours...

Today me, my family and grandma went to a julbord. To translate.... Christmas table. Don't know how common that tradition is in other countries but you basically go to a restaurant (usually it's an old house out on the country side somewhere) and eat all kinds of Christmas food. As much as you want!! Unfortunately there isn't much for me to eat there since I am a vegetarian. But it's still a tradition I enjoy very much! This year we found a nice place that we are planning on returning to next year. Hässlö Värdshus had several different rooms and it pretty much screamed CHRISTMAS eveywhere! Loved it. We sat there for hours and also took the time to celebrate grandma's birthday. After eating the best desert ever, it was time to go home...

Part 2

The next day I felt much better. But I still had a really bad cold, my throat hurt and I was weak. In general it was all good though, we had several people staying at the same hotel as us who were going to the gig. All were really nice. I met so many people this weekend it's crazy really!!

We took a long walk to the train station to pick up Viper around lunch. Good to see my bestie again of course :)

When we got back to the hotel me and Charlotte wanted to take our time with getting ready and couldn't care less about standing in the front row because we don't like that. And we thought we'd see well anyways, and we were right. Anna and Viper went to stand in line. There they met Lo and her friend Dan who had just arrived in Paris from England. The line was long. But we would all get mixed together in there anyways, so me and Charlotte didn't mind waiting until everyone had gone inside :)

Kissin Dynamite played first and they were pretty good! Better than I had expected. When they were done the whole crowd split up and some went outside to get a drink. So then me and Charlotte could walk right up to the front of the stage where our friends stood. I'm glad I stayed at the hotel and not outside in the cold for three hours!

Crashdïet went on stage not long after and they were just amazing!! I forgot that I had a sore throat and that I was weak. I screamd SO loud, sang along to every song and danced my ass off, haha! This gig and the gig in Falun is the best ones that I have seen with them so far. We talked to Peter afterwards and he told us to meet them by the merchandise later so that we could gather everyone for the after party. (oh boy had we been looking forward to that or what!)

Blackrain's gig was the best!! It wasn't just a gig, it was a show. During "Overloaded", they brought out the burlesque dancers from that music video! And during the show they had several other guests up on stage too. Like the kid who was 10 years old or something, he played drums during "She's in love". And the girl who played keyboard for a couple of songs that made it feel like an orchester was playing in the background, just beautiful. In the beginning they had three dudes in Scottish kilts playing "Amazing grace" on bagpipes. Max came in playing the same song on electric guitar. Yeah, I almost cried! A couple of songs before the end Simon came out and sang "Twist and shout" with Blackrain. There simply wasn't any better way of ending that evening.

The intro

Afterwards we went to the merch. There were so many people there so we just mingled for a while and took it easy. Blackrain never showed up though so I was worried that they wouldn't come to the party. Then I suddenly saw Peter looking at me from the other side of the room and he waved like crazy, hahaha!

So I ran up and hugged him and we all gathered around to plan the after party. They had some box they needed to walk to our hotel with, to get it shipped to another country. So even though the guards were trying to get us to leave because the venue was closing, we still stayed. In the end we stood outside waiting instead.

Peter came out and we all split up. Me, Anna and Charlotte went to our hotel with him. The others went to McDonalds, we said we'd text them when we knew which bar we were going to.

It was so funny when we were talking to the receptionist in there about the box. Two rock guys who stayed at the same hotel as us walked in and saw Peter London standing there. And they immediately turned into shy 10 year old boys :P you know, so starstrucked haha! It was so sweet. Like "Oh man... Peter... what are you doing... like... here?" :P

Peter then had to go back to pack all the stuff. So we decided to text him when we knew where we were going. Jennifer who we also have had contact with since before the trip, and her whole gang of friends, said they knew a bar not far away. So we all ended up going there! It was so hard trying to describe in texts to Lou and the others where the bar was located, but after an hour they finally showed up. Dripping wet from the rain, poor sweethearts <3

On our way to the after party... crazy fuckers on the subway!

We got there first and then Crash and Blackrain all joined! It was just such a relaxed atmosphere going on between all of these people. I can't even explain. It was like that the whole night! We all sat down and had some drinks, although I only had water that night. I was so high on the adrenalin from the show that I didn't even need alcohol to stay awake or have fun. Because I couldn't possibly be having any more fun than I already was!

The bar was closing around 2. And we thought "where the hell are we going to go at this time on a sunday, nothing is open!" But Swan said he knew a place just one block away that was open until 5! Perfect! So the whole bar of people left to go there. It was so quiet outside and raining a little bit. And there, on the streets of Paris there was a whole parade of rock n rollas walking together. A guy from the Kissin Dynamite crew filmed all of us walking into that tiny bar. I saw only a few people sitting in there and one bartender who was having a calm and easy going evening. Haha well... you should have seen his face when we all showed up. He earned some big bucks, let me tell you. The question remains though, did he really think it was worth it? :P haha

09:00... from one bar to the next...

The oxygen went out immediately :P it got so hot in there because we were so many. Everyone was falling all over each other trying to get from one part of the room to the other, haha...

I just sat down at a table and relaxed with some people. I talked to Hannes, the singer in Kissin Dynamite who was very nice and funny. He did the best Ozzy Osbourne impression!

We decided to leave around 4 in the morning. Drunk Peter was my entertainment while waiting for everyone to come out. He walked around singing "A papaya coconut" over and over :P I told him I was going back to the hotel and he rambled on about how great it was of me to come there and then he kissed my hand twice and bowed so deep that he almost hit is head on the floor, hahaha!

While gathering everyone up outside we were trying to figure out how to do with Vipers bag that she had left at the hotel. I couldn't afford the extra money to bring it with me to Sweden and she couldn't leave the group because then she wouldn't find them again. But it all worked out fine. She came back with us to the hotel.

Then Lou and Dan took a taxi to the hotel to meet up with her. It was just so surreal that me, Lou and Viper barely had spent any time with each other during that whole night. The bar was so crowded and we were on opposite sides of the room. When we finally met outside of the hotel again we felt peaceful. The city was quiet, it wasn't very cold outside anymore. It was just us :) standing there in the middle of the street laughing about how crazy the night had been. I finally had to say good bye and return to my hotel room. Me, Anna and Charlotte were on the flight back home a few hours later... :)

Part 1

I went to Stockholm on friday night and met up with Anna and Charlotte. It was the first time I met Charlotte and I think she is super sweet! Anna, who lives in Stockholm, has cats and I'm allergic so I got to sleep at her friends place for a few hours before we had to take the bus to the centralstation. In the middle of the night all three of us walked to the bus station. But the bus didn't come! It was freezing cold and we were starting to plan to call a taxi when it arrived half an hour too late. The flight bus and plane ride went fine even though I didn't get much sleep. The sun was shining when we got to Paris and it looked like fall there. Not at all like winter. After going on yet another bus and then on the subway, we finally arrived at the hotel where we checked in.

We had planned on seeing the Eiffeltower that day but we felt like we didn't have time for that all of a sudden. We thought we would arrive before lunch and not after. Swan had written to us on facebook saying that he'd love to meet us the day before the gig, so we knew that he would contact us during the day but we didn't know what time. And of course we didn't want to be on the other side of the city when he called :P

So we just went out for lunch instead (the best pasta and chocolate mousse ever!). And when we were at the hotel we got some sleep and took our time with showering and getting ready to go out during the evening. We didn't have any special plans yet. But then suddenly Charlotte's phone rang and it was Swan! He said that he and Max were going to a bar tonight but couldn't stay longer than til 6 or 7 pm. And the time was like 5 when he called so we totally panicked and were suddenly ready in just 10 minutes :P haha

We managed to find the bar after going on the subway but when we got there it was closed, wouldn't open until in 10 minutes. So we just waited outside and called Swan to see where they were and they were almost there. We were already inside when they got there. And they brought along their friend, a girl named Udo (spelling?). Really sweet girl!

The guys were so nice and knew the place well. So we ordered cocktails, talked and laughed and had a good time. Max had to help Charlotte with some french sentence that she thought meant "can I say hello by kissing your cheeks?". And he explained that that was a really old way of saying that in. When you say it nowadays it means "Can I fuck you?" haha!

There was a guy who was there with his friends, having a bachelor party. We started talking about hen parties (brittish bachelorette parties). And somehow I ended up doing the chicken dance. I'm not going to go into any details but at least I was told I did a sexy chicken dance, so it can't have been that bad. (Jeez, that vodka went straight to my head :P)

The guys stayed longer than they had planned but finally had to go. But after they left I got really sick. I was sitting with all of my clothes on... jacket...scarf... gloves...hat... and was still shaking like a leaf because I was freezing so much. I felt like I had a fever and my throat hurt so bad. I was just weak. But we didn't leave until 2 hours later. I felt miserable sitting in a corner while Anna and Charlotte hung out with two Swiss girls (Kris and Desriée) that we met who were also going to the gig. They were really cool both of them, I just wasn't up for being social that night for obvious reasons. Of course I couldn't go back to the hotel on my own. First of all I wouldn't be able to find it and second of all it was night time and Paris isn't a particulary safe place to walk around in by yourself. Finally the girls dropped me off at the hotel and it was so fucking good laying in bed. The others went out to eat while I slept like a baby.

I feel so much better and I can't believe I am going to Paris tonight!!
A bit tired from yesterday when I first had a whole day at preschool and then babysat the girls from late afternoon until 00:30. But it was fun of course :) Now I have been packing all day. Starting to get a bit nervous. Don't like flying during the winter. I'm fine with it in the summer. But I have seen way too many documentaries about flightaccidents that can happen because of frost and snow. But it's actually been raining today so the snow is melting. Hoping it'll stay the same tomorrow morning when we take off.

I would like to write a longer post about the band PeepShow who just released their first music video. But since I don't have time to write about this great band now, I'll just show you the video and we'll talk about it later ;) haha. Wow, can't believe I am really doing this. Going to Paris for the weekend. I am trying to not get my hopes up but I just have a feeling that it'll be damn sweet. We all have that feeling. Now take a listen...

That's how I feel. I am looking forward to Paris but I can't believe it's actually going to happen. Right now I am too focused on preschool and to get through the rest of the days without worrying about my friends. I just feel like I have been a bad friend lately, don't know what I am doing wrong though. As a result, it's hard to fix the problem. If there is one. It's those little comments I get from time to time. Or the unreplied messages... in other words, no comments at all. Whatever my opinon is, it feels wrong. Even though I've had it for quite some time now. I don't know what to do... every day when I come home from preschool I just want the afternoon and evening to go faster so that I can start all over again. At least I'll babysit the girls tomorrow evening. That'll take my mind off things.
I hate taking my mind off things though. Really hate it. When there is a problem I want to fix it immediately. I just don't know where to start now. So all I do is to walk around with this gut feeling that something isn't right.

The only thing that can make me relax right now is Lauryn Hill's voice and inner strength

I am going to take the time to write a post about Black Veil Brides sometime. But there is just so much to say that I really need the energy for it. Until then I want to write about my favourite of their songs! It's one of their biggest hits and I totally understand why.

The lyrics are interesting though because they seem easy and predictable, but they actually have a background story.
"Fallen Angels" actually comes from the biblical story of the fallen angels. I personally don't know enough about the Bible myself to talk about it. But Andy Biersack, the singer in the band, is very interested in people's beliefs even though he prefers to believe in himself instead of a religion. He explained in an interview that when the holy war happened in heaven there were seven fallen angels who were cast down to earth. These angels fornicated with human women and created the nephilim, or the so called in-betweens. Andy and the rest of the band members interpreted these as the ultimate outcasts or the ultimate weirdos. Just like Black Veil Brides and other rock n´ rollas are seen as today. But a lot of us try to rebel against that. That is why most rock bands sing about being rebels and starting riots. It's not about beating people up for no reason. It's about the psychological riots. To challenge people's prejudice thoughts and to make them understand that we only want to be ourselves. Just like we want everyone else to be themselves too. We want to live in a world where that is okay.

"Kids that listens to rock n´ roll music or dresses in a certain way, they aren't bad people. They just enjoy a certain thing. And they are sort of alienated from a lot of situations in life. That is not neccessarely the case for us. It's more like a complete anthem to that."

I haven't been blogging much lately, simply because there hasn't been much to say. I've been busy all week with being at the preschool (school practice) and will be there for another two weeks. It feels so good seeing the kids again. Not to mention the lovely new teachers who I get to know more and more each day. I feel like we would make a great team if I worked there for real :)

But I thought I'd stop by here and show you guys a cool video that I found yesterday! I was watching Lady Gaga's new video for "Marry the night" when I saw this in the suggestions section. It's an amature video made by a girl as a graduation project. She created a story for Lady Gaga's song "Bloody Mary" and even though she is copying the artist a bit, she has still managed to do a very original video. I have watched it several times by now and really like it!

Dynazty - Land of broken dreams

The Swedish rock band Dynazty made a name of themselves in this years Melodifestival (Sweden's competition for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest). They made a powerful cover of the song "This is my life" - Anna Bergendahl, who was the winner last year. Today the band announced the great news that they will compete in Melodifestivalen next year! I have heard rumors about it, but didin't want to write anything about it until it was confirmed. Dynazty will compete with the song "Land of broken dreams" which is written by Thomas G:son and Thomas "Plec" Johansson. Their part of the competition will be aired from Malmö on the 25th of February. Make sure you don't miss it! And for goodness sake... VOTE!!!!!!!!!

I have sat down to watch "The Hangover 2" about three times now but I always come up with something else to do. Like sleeping, hanging up Christmas decorations, listening to Vains of Jenna, watching interviews with Bradley Cooper.... but so far the movie has been phenomenal!! I thought it would suck since the first one was such a hit. It's definitely a risk trying to top the last movie if it went that well. But so far so good!

They gave me a lot of great memories, stories and beautiful images to be inspired by. I remember it with great joy and I still watch those movies once in a while. But now when I think back I realise that those movies also influenced me in a bad way. Take "Beauty and the Beast" for example! Threats, assault, illegal restraint and OH how cute isn't it when the feather duster says NO to the chandelier who still does whatever he wants with her...

This evening has been brilliant! I babysat the girls who I'm a Nanny to. Haven't seen them in ages so it was a joy cuddling with them in a big pile of pillows while watching the children's channel on TV. When I got home I finished watching a movie that I was recommended by a friend to see. It's called "He's just not that into you". The name of it doesn't sound very appealing, huh? But that's the beauty of it!! Finally someone has made a movie about how girls and boys are being raised differently. To show how that affects us when we grow up to become adults who are trying to find a partner. Apparently it is based on a book that was published with the same titel; the line is from "Sex and the City". I recognize myself so much in the character Gigi (Ginnifer Goodwin) who constantly is misreading the signals guys are sending out. But the one I recognized myself in the most was Anna (Scarlett Johansson) who uses flirting as a way of keeping guys at a distance. She is totally scared off when she's being offered a stable relationship, even though that is what she has always dreamed of... Hello me!

Don't think this movie is a chick flick though, it's for guys too! Bradley Cooper and Ben Affleck are just some of the actors who are showing these scenarios from a guys point of view. Each of the characters stories are important for women and men to understand each other better. Watch it! It's so funny and great, you won't be disapointed!

Maybe the happy ending is this:

knowing that through all of the unreturned phone calls, the broken hearts, through all of the blunders and misread signals, through all of the pain and embarrassment... you never ever gave up hope.

Ever heard of Amaranthe? Those of you who likes bands such as Nightwish and Within Temptation will like this Swedish/Danish power/melodic death metal band. (As they describe themselves, although I personally think their music is a bit too innocent to be called death metal...)
In April 2011 they released their first album which did well in both Sweden and Finland. They were especially succesful on Spotify where they were the 84th most played album in the whole world, all genres!
The six band members will continue their Europe tour until September of 2012. This October they had two gigs in Sweden but will return to Rockstad Falun next fall.

Can't stand being at home so much these days. Everyone is constantly working and I just go to school two days a week. Not a lot of fun hanging around here alone, let me tell ya. Although I've been invited out to party on Saturday here in the city where I live. We'll just see about that...

Don't like partying in this city at all. Really. I'm the one who is most likely to be sitting in a corner looking like I want to get the hell out of there! And besides, don't know if I'll get my money until then. I guess I should give it a shot since I haven't been out on a club in Västerås for ages. There's just too many 17-18 year olds here and I get along better with people who are older than me. And who likes rock. It's weird though. Västerås is considered as one of the main rock cities of Sweden and we do get so many big rock artists here, even though we are so close to Stockholm. But the kids in this city doesn't seem to know about it. They're too busy waving their fists in the air to some remix of a techno/house song that goes on and on and on......

In 2008 I saw a documentary on TV that I taped so I would never lose it. It's called "Britney Spears: For the record" and it means so much to me. I'm not particulary fond of Britney's music nowadays, but I can relate to her as a person. We all know about those crazy years she went through when people thought that she was going insane. When in reality, she was just a broken-hearted girl trying to protect herself from the world. In this documentary she clears up all of the rumors that has ever been said about her. But first and foremost she talks about depression. Not that kind of depression that comes and goes, but the one that stays for a really long time and makes you feel like life is hardly worth living. The kind that I have gone through. I can't help but to cry every time I watch this, because what she says goes straight into my heart. It hits the weakest spot in my heart, but also the strongest. And here's why....

I wish that every person on this planet could experience major depression for 24 hours straight. Not because I want to harm them. I want to open new doors for them. Those doors that were opened for me when I got out of my depressive state of mind. It was a revelation... not a religious one... but a personal one.
Depression is something to be thankful for, believe it or not. Even though you definitely don't feel that way when you're in the middle of it. I do feel blessed to have gone through this. And Britney explains why in the best of ways.

God I miss the 90's.... yes, I was one of those kids who walked around with photo albums filled with collectible photos of Spice Girls and Backstreet Boys. I didn't have the original one though. The one that Spice Girls sold as merchandise. Every other girl in my class had it and I was so jealous. Inside of the booklet cover you had small pictures of the ones you could collect. I had 10 out of... I don't know... 60 maybe. I still have them to this day! In the same old Winne the Pooh album...
There are people selling these albums online today. I found this picture on one of those sites and I get jealous just by looking at it, haha!

I just get sad when I see what kids today has to grow up listening to. It's kind of tabu to say that you like Spice Girls and Backstreet Boys today, but they didn't get that famous for nothing ;)

Anyone else in my generation who watched the re-run of Happy Days as a kid? I adored it!
It was a happy-go-lucky show that always ended well no matter what troubles the family and the children's friends were being put through. Which is something that I can't really stand about todays television. I saw way too much Happy Days, Full House, Family matters and Step by Step as a kid...
But the good thing about these shows was that you would always laugh at every episode. And those are the memories that matters.

Even though Happy Days was cancelled in 1984, they still drew a crowd 10 years later when Weezer released their music video for "Buddy Holly". The band performed on a stage that looked like the one at Al's drive-in diner, then they combined that with clips from the show. They even managed to get Al who played Al.... (haha).... to do a short cameo in the beginning and in the end. Some of the actors like Anson Williams who played Potsie, agreed to do cameos as dancers. The video won four MTV Video Music Awards and now appears at the Music of Modern Art's music exhibit.

Christmas is coming

Right now I'm really supposed to be reading the "Sheridan, S, Discerning Pedagogical Quality in Preschool Scandinavian Journal of Educational Research, 2009"... it sounds about as boring as it is. I love this subject but jeez... why make it more complicated than it already is? The only thing that is keeping me in a good mood today is the lovely weather! The sun is shining and the roof tops are covered in ice. Now all I need is a blue sky and a big layer of snow.

I have a good feeling about December this year. Christmas just can't be that bad two years in a row. But what I am most looking forward to is the preperation for it. Listening to Christmas music, making ice chocolate, eating saffron buns with raisins in it and decorating the Christmas tree....

Speaking of Vincent... his father Roger Pontare is a very much respected artist here in Sweden. Vincent didn't want to give out his last name at first, because he wanted to make a career of his own. But nowadays most people knows about this and calls him by his full name Vincent Pontare.
His father Roger is known for his fantastic outfits that reminds you of the great ol´ native indians, the Lappish and the snowy mountains up in the north of Sweden. In year 2000 he entered the Eurovision Song Contest, which he has competed in many times, and won with the song "När vindarna viskar mitt namn" (When spirits are calling my name). Any Swede who doesn't know of this song must be living under a rock...
It's full of power and beautiful singing. Not to mention all of the interesting characters walking around on stage, making you feel like you've travelled back in time to walk through an Indian village...

The rock band Hammerfall has made a cover of this song that you can find on YouTube. But a couple of years before that, they did a much appreciated performance together with Roger. I clearly remember watching this and loving how the singers voices fell together in the best of ways.
